As a follow on from my last post, I’ve just seen this post from yesterday (Wednesday 13th) it appears the branding for Magic TV disappeared upon the removal of the radio station from Virgin & Satellite. Coincidence?
As of time of posting on Virgin TV GO (as I’m not at home) the branding still has not returned.

Look North (NE&C) lost its weather forecast tonight. Here's what went down:
www.youtube.com
You can see a frame from it appear very briefly at 1:07. (N.B.: The sound crackles/delays are as a result of my recording software, not what was broadcast. Though the sound fading out early towards the end of the bulletin *was*).

Here's an interesting one from late last night, "Frankie Howerd's Confessions" on That's TV seemed to have the filename used to play this out shown in the output video stream. The other episode shown last night didn't. I wonder if a playout mistake or just imprinted on the only copy they have/existing?

See attached.

Metadata problem?
That the filenames are appearing instead of the text that should be on air (or not on air in the case of that bumper) seems to suggests the text that should be shown isn't present, or it can't read it (on WIndows VLC and Film and TV apps do this).
That Frankie Howerd show was Thames, so it's doubtful its missing. Apparently That's have shown it before, and Fremantle pushed it out on DVD (According to Amazon) in 2007.

Their music channels (That's 60s/70s/80s/90s) put the details of the song currently playing in the corner like that.
Perhaps that has somehow been added to That's TV in error and it's showing some other metadata.

That'll be a playout scheduling error.
Modern playout automation system have the capability to automatically populate text fields in graphics with information from the playlist, often used for things like programme menus.
Given what's been seen I'm guessing that graphic is automatically populated with the description in the playlist of the parent event (i.e. the video clip). In those instances I'm guessing the graphic shouldn't have been scheduled to appear at those times.

Since you mention that, I’d like to comment BBC News (world) no longer has those time bumpers at-least on the North American feed.

Normally Magic is the usual suspect but not this time, Kiss is currently DOG and graphic-less and on Virgin they have Kerrang as “To Be Announced” on the EPG until 06:00 on New Years Day but that’s probably a Virgin issue.

BoXmas just went to an ad break, played The Box ident 6 times before showing the ads. Was starting to think it was stuck in an ident loop!
