Breakdown at the start of France v South Africa for about 2 minutes. A test card was displayed before cutting to a silent ITV1 logo.
Is this the first breakdown since the 2022 rebrand as they didn’t actually have a breakdown slide or even an announcer, literally just the channel logo on a blue background.

We didn’t get that here (ITV1 Yorkshire on Sky) - had the ITV Sport sting then about 15 seconds of black screen but then the titles appeared (which were 15 seconds in).

Just caught it on ITV1+1, Meridian via DSat. Didn't see how it started but there was a blank screen by 20:14 (programme due to start at 20:15) and then two testcards
The first testcard said
ITV SPORT - RWC PARIS IBC
IBC - UK 19A - YELLOW PATH 1A
This was followed by another one that said
Sunday 15 October 2023
18 : 25 : 50 : 06

The second test card seemed frozen and was silent.
Then the ITV1 logo as described above.
The person doing the subtitles played out the first couple of lines before removing them and then continuing them once the programme appeared.
Other elements worked, the animating of the ITV1 logo as the programme started and the subtitles graphic all appeared as expected.
The presenter apologised for the issue.

The ITV1 static slide reminds me of the pre-2013 era when during breakdowns they'd just have the ITV1 logo on a background.
Shame there isn't any music this time

Several promos has also been running with various ABBA songs in the background replacing other songs that were used in the normal versions of the trailers. Don’t have captures of any of them, unfortunately, but IIRC they used SOS for Six Four (I only saw it a few times so far today so I could be wrong).

We’ve gone from having the first real big Ident push and promo push in an ITV1 generation…to having two in the same month! Thanks for spotting this
There were also some Britain Get Talking break bumpers on the 10th of October-they’re putting in a presentation shift I reckon. Might be due to the new dynamics of the idents, and how they’re easier to make specials of than the last couple of batches.

Those work quite well - as I said I only caught the end so didn't realise they began as a regular ident would. Potential to do something similar for I'm a Celeb.
