So from 9.15am to 1.40pm on weekdays, Channel 5 in effect becomes Talk TV in all but name.

Even for Channel 5, it’s very cheap TV.

Would surely make sense to give the second half billing under the relevant hosts name, especially as Jeremy Vine is on Radio 2 whilst Jeremy Vine Extra Extra is on air.
Surely over that period they must repeat alot of the discussion points.

I find it weird that Storm's segment is only an hour, it would be better to have Jeremy from 0915 to 1045, Storm from 1045 to 1115 and Alexis 1215 to 1340. I think Jeremy leaves at either 1030 or 1045, you could have the paper review during Storm.

I’d seen the below whilst looking through some replies on Twitter - does anyone know why this reason might be?

I wonder if the fact the show is going to 4 hours and a half long is the main reason. I think a good compromise would be do a BBC Breakfast and have the show available for 24 hours only.

Hard to believe anyone would want to watch this on catch-up hours later, but yes the new 4.5 hour duration (!) is obvs the problem

I don't get why anyone would want to watch it on demand (or live for that matter) but now they're sensibly splitting it up into three shows the running time shouldn't be the issue.
Perhaps a cost vs return exercise - it's so little watched on demand it's not worth C5 putting up?

No expense spared on the logo for the Storm Huntley show.
