Will it be 1080p50 though? I presume it will seeing as the ITV Hub is one of the few services that does 50fps, so would be strange for them to go backwards and only be 25.

On the Fire TV platform, ITV Hub is now streaming all live channels at 1080p/25fps, including CITV.
VOD is a mix of 720p or 1080p depending on the show. Family Guy for example is at the lower resolution.

Is the VOD running at 25 or 50fps?

25fps at the moment, but I'll do another test when it relaunches as ITVX.

A step backwards if it's only doing to be 25fps seeing as the hub was offering 50fps before.

Most viewers won't notice the difference. 50fps is great for fast action and sports, but they will notice the improvement in PQ on the majority of entertainment shows.
I suspect the reason why they used 50fps was to make the SD at least look watchable.

Why would it? STV and ITV are separate companies. STV Player is a UK-wide streaming service in its own right. There was no "STV Hub" when ITV rebranded its service.
