But still you can see that the lower thirds are much more careful than 14:9, it looks like they are still designed to be 4:3 proof.
They’re not in 4:3 safe as parts of the texts are outside the overscaned safe zone.

IIRC, sometimes the small stripes at the top and the bottom are cut off due to overscan so in some regions they do not have this white space under the flipper, the flipper letters are pretty much at the very bottom of the screen.

The end shot of the countdown now looks particularly messy with 2 different BBC logos.

By the way, does World feed get the same countdown as the UK feed, with Sophie Raworth towards the end?

I agree with what you are saying but it’s role is now useless presumably because the person who types the text is no longer employed?

And where’s the evening version? We got a daytime edition and an early evening one.

They seem to be getting in a muddle with putting the wrong people in the wrong boxes, using the wrong templates. It screams GB News in the early days.

And once again they missed the Donald because they're faffing around trying to put the right feed on screen but the wipes and boxes are getting mixed up.

Leading into the 9pm hour the UK feed had a full 90 second countdown. The World feed joined the same countdown with about 20 seconds to go. Both feeds were exactly in sync at the end of the countdown.

Bit late to the party here, but what was the rationale behind Marianna Spring's report from the 'Hub' in the newsroom? The idea was extremely gimmicky, but they already have a huge touchscreen in Studio B - why wasn't that used? Ignoring the fact that it looked dire (along with the rest of the newsroom pres), if the BBC are trying to save money here, would it not be cheaper to have a correspondent in a studio that's already in use?

May be they want to have a spare explainer place so they could more freely choose time to record those explainers? Studio B tends to be occupied sometimes by the national bulletins and BBC London (oh, and Laura K once a week). Nationals still need rehearsals for half-an-hour.

Context brought panel at 20:08, BTW, and they kept talking while Trump was flying and getting of the plane, with a couple of live crossings to the actual BBC reporter, Nada Tawfik.

Oh, and all BBC schedules are still blissfully unaware that Context is here and back for good.
