The News Channel UK feed did broadcast something on their schedule slated as 'BBC News at Six', and at the end probably just switched to B's gallery in preparation for the '7'.
If the regions didn't opt out in time they would have caught it, but it seems odd that there was a copyright caption unless that was the end of a rehearsal.
Sophie would probably have been there as usual from about 17:30. As the start of the delayed national bulletin wasn't confirmed until quite late, there would be little point in her moving as she can presumably achieve any script changes from the desk in B as easily as going back up to the newsroom.

Not sure where to post this as it probably effects all channels - but I’ve only seen it on BBC News…
Currently reporters often have their Twitter handles shown on screen. Now lots are heading over to Threads, how will they show both? In many cases they’re different.

It was just a schedule not updated, archive shows that they carried on the World feed and the first half-hour of Daily Global

UPD. However, for whatever reason that half-an-hour piece of Daily Global ended up on iPlayer in the "News at Six" category, with the network bulletin not appearing at all.

Why not do the first story from the Monolith at the front of the studio?

News Channel is just looping promos at the moment, obviously waiting for newsnight to start but it’s pretty poor.

Quite interesting, now with Newsnight being delayed/cancelled on BBC Two, that's also playing havoc with the News Channel, which since the end of the Ten has resorted to playing every single trailer they have access to, and surprisingly they haven't yet repeated one (coming up to about 20 trailers so far).

Surely when News at 10 ended and they had a shot of the NewsNight presenter standing and waiting they knew that wasn’t about to happen!
Why not just switch to World and drop Newsnight this evening

Can't they just show whatever is on the world feed? Even if they end up having to crash out of it, surely that's better than endless trails.

The endless trailers are frankly embarrassing
