World are on HARDtalk/pre-recorded content, so there wasn't any live programming going out.

They ended the run of trailers with a showing on BBC Three's The Catch Up before running the filler as BBC Two were wrapping up the tennis coverage.

On the News Channel, Newsnight ends and crashes into an interview about Evan Gershkovich that is already mid-way through.

Why is there no ability to… fear the thought… run more trailers until the end of the interview?

The whole thing looks amateur and disjointed.

How on earth has a world renowned broadcaster come to this?

I’m sure this has been discussed at length, but I wanted to voice my own thoughts about just how terrible the lower third update is. If you’re going to take up 25% of the screen with opaque graphics, then at least use them for something more than the bug, a short story banner, and web URL!

I can only think bbc news is effectively three departments, you got the Salford production base who are producing the news and Sport who have maintained their high standards which we expect, then there is network news who in studio b are still producing their programmes to a high standard with a great studio and pin sharp graphics on screen, and this new merged channel which has a reduced budget and run by management who don’t know what they are doing and continue to make poor decisions regarding the presentation of the content and the graphics, take this new merged channel out of the equation and bbc news is still great.

Sadly for the Uk feed it’s coming from the heart of the poor operation and it’s affected the worst.

5 News do this a lot- deliberately. Maybe they should just incorporate it

But do you have knowledge that it actually aired?
