It's on major world story days like the aborted Russian coup or the current Israel crisis that the new channel has been at its best. Coincidentally, it's probably coverage of major developing international news where the way things are done has changed the least.

Yes, you’re right: the partial re-emergence of the old BBC World (News).

Looks like it’s now going to be a regular thing

Do you think it’s because they are short staffed in the network team so can’t afford to send a presenter such as Clive Myrie out there.

Normally Clive would be there and he’d be interviewing Lyse

Lyse Doucet. That's the post.

Although it's never in good times that we see her presenting bulletins from on location. She is always excellent and these last few days have been no different

You could be right. When the Ukraine war first began in February 2022 and they sent Clive out there to anchor, they had both Huw and George still on the network rota in London who presented the Six and Ten regularly. Now of course, if they send Clive (or another anchor) to Israel, presumably they’d be super tight for cover in the studios in London.

I agree Lyse is doing her usual excellent job.

Is having her presenting though actually preventing her from doing her usual excellent job?

Talking of Clive Myrie he is promoting his book at the moment and was an excellent listen on Claudia Winkleman's show on Saturday morning talking about many things but noteably about the influence of Sir Trevor Mcdonald on him growing up and how being able to see it meant he could be it.
