BT Sport

Looking from afar, BT Sport's commitment to diversity in front and behind the camera does seem to be something they have done successfully.

BT has been doing a lot of internal pushes on diversity and disability, so perhaps some of their ideas are still getting through despite the feeling that the JV is more of a takeover, views not helped by the impending rebrand. Hopefully it's considered worthwhile by deaf sports fans & it'll continue under the new name.

Also fits in with BT's existing strengths in this field like operating the text phone relay service (and the SMS based 999 service) on behalf of the telecoms industry. Lets them score a few brownie points with Ofcom too.

A nice little montage for Score, which signs off tomorrow after 7 seasons:

Lovely big long list of credits at the end of the final Premier League match of the season.

Plus a large amount of crew on the set at the end of Score. For as much as they're saying it's just a new name, I think things will feel quite different come the new season.

And aren't quite a few of that crew getting their P45's?

I personally think Eurosport has gone downhill presentation wise since Discovery took over and even more so since the focus on Discovery+, so don't hold out much hope on that front.

BT Sport's coverage of the Champions League final got a plug from Babs Schett on Eurosport's Roland-Garros coverage just now as part of their "weekend of Champions" which falls that weekend - although it wasn't on the graphic.

I remember ESPN U.K., who in some ways BT were a bit of a successor to, doing a similar thing for their final FAPL game ten years ago.

I'm willing to bet you'll find a fair number of the same names on both!

Watching BT Sport tonight for the first time in a while and I can't help but notice how ubiquitous the TNT Sports brand is in the surrounding coverage.

Having had a few issues and gripes with the Discovery+ navigation etc. during the last few days watching the tennis, I'm not looking forward to social media on the first day Premier League fans (or any very high demand event) are exposed to the app. The navigation can be a bit slow or awkward quite often.

..and they have gone out with Primal Scream!! I squealed at that, I must say, how very lovely.

Let’s hope that montage gets a few more plays over the next month or so. I’ve had a real soft spot for BT’s approach to it all, and I will really miss them as I think a lot of what I’ve appreciated will go with the move to WBD running the show.
