The BBC Chameleon Thread

The MHEG images are *still* in the old style with the Gill blocks and the old station logos (e.g. Radios 3 & 4 still have their "treble clef" and "quote mark" numerals, respectively). I consider this state of affairs, much as with BBC Weather, to be nothing short of woeful and pathetic.
Is this R4 logo legit or the work of the people running this promotion?

I have another book with a similar dodgy Radio 4 logo on a sticker on the cover…

I suspect it’s the rogue work of a publisher, and nothing to do with anyone at the BBC.

That does look lovely indeed.

That's one of the standard animations that came with the kit of parts of the new branding. Think it's the least used, I've not seen it on the promos like the others

It’s the little things like this that I don’t understand, a BBC News tweet with edited video of Jacinda Ardern announcing her resignation that is still using the old BBC logo at the start, end and over the top of the footage despite changes to the rest of the news graphics (well at least in the UK.

I am guessing it’s using some transparent video overlay which they haven’t got round to updating.

I seem to remember they updated it pretty swiftly when the NEWS text in the logo changed from Gill to Reith. Almost feels like they’ve forgotten about it this time.

By way of contrast, the BBC Wales sketch show Age of Outrage (made in 2021) has gone to the trouble of updated the BBC logo in its spoof news graphics for its recent compilation series:

Whereas this is the clip from the opening titles:

Also look out for the recreated BBC One Lens idents that have replaced the spoofs of Oneness.

Including new voiceovers, from Matt, who's got a mortgage to pay!

Have BBC1 decided to shelve some of their idents already? It seems we only get to see the farmyard, market and cafe now with the very occasional hall and warehouse one. My favourites are the bench ones but these seem never to be aired.
