I also don’t understand it and especially in the streaming era it seems overkill but clearly it must still bring in ad revenue so they continue with it.

I thought it was their female skewed channel, bit like TLC for example. Same way ITV4 is supposedly a male skewed channel.
ITV2 is now ITV's version of E4, perhaps.

ITV2 had many advertisers competing for ad space to the point where ITV concluded that launching a female-skewed channel would help to bring in more advertisers who couldn't get prime ad space on ITV2. It also changed ITV2's demographic to one solely focusing on the youth audience

Yeah. ITV1 = everyone. ITV2 = young adults and teenagers. ITV3 = older people. ITV4 = men. ITV Be. = women (including mothers, hence the existence of the Little Be block for toddlers). And obviously CITV = children.

That's what I understand to be the purpose of each channel . It's harder to define the BBC's channel 4s and channel 5s channels but there is similar in their networks as well

I’m naturally going to assume that CITV’s logo isn’t going to be changed too much, maybe a colour change? I would like to see CITV rock a new lick of paint, perhaps a blue?
