Presumably that is an extract of the official single from artists OneRepublic, Meduza, and Kim Petras (not ringing many bells tbh). I think the goals featured are the same selection in either the 2016 or 2020 intros; the music sounds a bit like the 2008 theme at the start.

The match schedule is out. Rather speedy I must say.

I suspect they had a default schedule ready to go and only would make changes if deemed necessary.   Seemed a bit pointless taking that approach with the Euros to be honest with every country being in the same time zone - as much as you don't want any big clashes at 2pm it's a bit different to the World Cup where it makes sense to try and adjust schedules to get games in a good time zone for the teams involved.

Seems a very good deal for the BBC getting 2/3 England games, 2/3 Scotland games and if they qualify 2/3 Wales games. ITV get Germany v Scotland but England v Slovenia is arguably the weakest group game - though the final one and in primetime. if Wales qualify (or even if they don't) the BBC get Netherlands and France and ITV get Austria. ITV get Spain v Italy in the group stage.

ITV getting first pick of Round of 16 and semis, BBC first pick of the quarters.

Fair enough considering the BBC have the extra group match per country in the group stage. I don't really like talking about Wales as if they've qualified but if by some miracle they do then looking at their potential group we're probably looking at 3rd place, which depending on permutations and them being one of the four highest third place finishers could mean an England v Wales clash in the R16.

There is also the potential of Scotland v England but that means Scotland winning their group and England coming second in theirs, which on paper looks highly unlikely but it only takes a shock result against Germany and England coming unstuck against Denmark for that to be a likely outcome.

So, Poland, Ukraine and Georgia are the final three teams to qualify for UEFA Euro 2024.

Poland into Group D, Ukraine into Group E and Georgia into Group F. Now just 80 days until Germany v. Scotland in Munich!

Quite a tidbit into production: the Euro 2024 world feeds will be produced in standard HD rather than UHD due to "technical issues" and partly because UEFA plans to integrate HDR and film-style cameras into the production for a "sharper contrast and detail in light and shade" even for HD viewers. Euro 2016 and 2020 were produced in UHD.

The official single has been released with five weeks to go. As ever for a UEFA Euro single, it comes across to me that the music was composed first and the lyrics were a distant second; but it will b the official soundtrack, like the sample in the official intro from the draw, so that makes sense.

And the host nation's broadcast teams have started to be unveiled. ARD have changed tack to how they covered recent tounraments like Qatar 2022, when they had a central studio team in Germany anchoring all matches, with a secondary presenting team of a presenter and pundit in the stadium for the biggest matches. All matches will be presented from the stadium, with Esther Sedlaczek (who was the in stadium presenter in Qatar) and Alexander Bommes (who was supposed to be the studio host 18 months back, but was ill) hosting alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger, Almuth Schult, Thomas Hitzlsperger and Thomas Broich (who will also be their co-commentator). Only three commentators will be involved on live games, Chrisina Graf, Tom Bartels and Gerd Gottlob, with regular Florian Naß covering the Tour de France and Olympics instead. Interestingly, all matches will be available on delay via the streaming platform, not just the matches covered live by ARD/ZDF.

ZDF meanwhile will be hosting from a central studio in Berlin, with Jochen Breyer and Katrin Müller-Hohenstein hosting alongside Per Mertesacker, Christoph Kramer and other guests. Their three commntators will be Claudia Neumann, Oliver Schmidt and Martin Schneider and Hanno Balitsch the only co-commentator. Germany's relationship with co-commentators is a very peculiar one coming from a British perspective, with only some games, and not neccesarily the biggest of games, having an ex-player in the commentary box (DAZN a notable exception).

Meanwhile RTL and Magenta Sport have announced their coverage will be a joint effort of sorts. This in practice means that either network's talent will appear on the other's coverage, and some games having joint coverage airing on RTL and Magenta with the same commentatr and pre-/post macth coverage. RTL will be building a new studio in their Cologne HQ for the coverage of both channels, whilst the presentation line-up will include TNT Sports pundit and ex-Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hragreaves as the only non-German in these published line-ups.
