Drop all the specialized shows and useless filler, bring back double headed bulletins hour after hour. This is what Sky News did when they were at the top!
I'm not sure I see the point of an entirely rolling news channel - the website and app can fulfil that for people wanting to dip in and get the news. I've always liked the idea of different programmes, but until recently, they've never really done it properly. Save for the Climate Show, and the 9pm slots, they are all the same thing anyway and you could argue that why do they call the show after the name of the presenter when there is no real difference.
Although, I do wonder if there is feasibility to have a rolling news web only output.
With regards to double-headed presentation, it would be nice to have that back in some capacity.
Lots of people moan about the glass box, referring to it as a vanity project, which I always thought was unfair as any studio is an opportunity to show off and create visual intrigue. If people don't like, that fair enough. The problem with the glass box is the same that always happens with Sky News, they start off with good intentions, rotating the desk, having different backdrops, and then become lazy and revert to one position with no variation. Why not start rotating the desk again? Why not LED backdrops or something on the boring beige walls behind the screen, so that programme output could be more visually distinctive and intriguing to the eye. But in reality, the studio isn't as versatile as Millbank is proving to be. Having a corner sofa in the glass box, some foliage, and then you have a lovely alternative presentation zone.
