Sky News

I was kind of told they don’t want to fully rely on Sky and vice versa. During the beginning of the Hamas war there was simulcasting then they stopped.

This probably is an easy way for NBC News Now to add live content.  I suspect they’ll just have the generic animating NBC News Now animating logo.

For a while we saw Black Rod head to the door to have it slammed on them but they never had a good camera angle, so all we saw was the BBC steadicam operator and their cable being bashed. Though we could watch the ceremony via the return feed of another OB camera in shot for a while.

Was it me or were some of the cameras from the House of Lords were SD? Especially what I assume were the ones mounted in the Rear balcony. The ones on the balcony closer to the King and Queen to be HD. I assume there was a proper camera with lens at the back to capture it in HD.

The look and graphics for Niall's new show are really nice - Sky News have really stepped it up a gear this year with its newest slate of branded shows

I wonder if NBC News Now will also take Yalda's World News hour?

I doubt it given the time of day it’ll be broadcast, 4pm ET. That slot on NBC News Now is occupied by ”Meet the Press Now”.

The odd thing is though that Wilfred Frost's show replaces Early Today on NBC News Now. That will surely still be made for NBC affiliates, so odd to replace US targeted show with one that will likely routinely be covering UK live events. Unless of course Sky News are going to be dropping UK news that won't interest viewers in the US for more global news, because of course that worked well on BBC News.

I imagine the intention here is to provide choice. US audiences already have access to Early Today through over the air television, so simulcasting Sky News Today provides alternative viewing options for those who aren't interested in watching Early Today.

I imagine the intention is to pick up audiences who are interested more in world news, who currently at that time of morning may be watching CNN's simulcast with CNNI Newsroom.

I wouldn't expect any changes to Sky News' output. They haven't changed it in the past when NBC News Now has simulcast Sky.

The odd thing is that NBC News Now is online and Sky News is also online in the US both easy to access. Both are on Pluto TV, Xumo Play, you can watch both on a Roku device (NBC News Now is on Roku Channel as well, Sky News App) ,both channels are on Comcast listings and on and on. Seems to be slightly redundant to do.

Also "Early Today" will still run at 6am ET hour on NBC News Now.

Whats that supposed to imply? Its an NBC News Press Release, which is an American news organization. So its hardly going to look like anything else. Clearly its a composited image of an existing photo of Niall added to the Sky News cube and a update to the News wall behind him to add the NBC NEWS NOW logo. There was clearly no special photographic sessions done for this show.

The logo for NBC News Now looks like it's just been pasted on straight, it's at a slightly different angle

Exactly its just a composite image. Interesting that Willfred Frost leaves CNBC to go to SkyNews but then he is back on the NBC/Universal payroll anyway.
