So have those glass shade stripes glued on the window of the westminster studio only been applied to hide the works in that area when this part can be seen in the backdrop. Because it would be a shame when you would not have a view into the freshly revamped westminster newsroom from the studio area later if those shades stay

Sorry but I think this looks just terrible. A dull office, very garish column, and a terrible stick on branding on the laptop. Just screams cheap.
Can't see the desk on that shot, but on Breakfast it looks awful - the join between the white plastic and wood effect isn't great.
It's all just such a mishmash - especially with the old fashioned windows in the background.
Those saying that Sky's presentation is streets ahead of the BBC's - just don't get it sorry. Studio C isn't the BBC's best studio and it's still much better.
Gareth looked so much more at home on the BBC. Hope he goes back there soon.

I don't think the revamp of the studio has started yet, if you look through the gaps you can see that the screens still have the Breakfast backdrop moving in the background.
Plus a video appeared on YouTube yesterday which was filmed in the studio.

After "Breakfast" I think the next slot revamp will be Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips. Like with Breakfast...GB News has a very healthy lead on it.
I think they'd be better off moving it to 10AM after Laurak ..the old Adam Boulton slot.

As you alluded to, given the huge amount of LF money that still contributes to the channel (at a guess, at least 50%) it very much feels like the UK viewer is getting a raw deal.
Well it's not showing in the ratings as the BBC is hammering Sky in the evenings. Ridge is behind Farage and Jane is barely ahead of GB News most nights.
Despite the drastic cuts to the NC , the viewing figures have barely changed which is insane really.
When Comcast's 10 year commitment to Sky's budget is up it will inevitably have to become much leaner.

Comcast is pretty much doing what the BBC is doing in the US. Spending more resources online.
It's 2024 not 2004.

Interestingly I read an article which said Murdoch is apparently interested in buying Sky News back from Comcast, I wonder if they might be interested in that offer when their commitment is up.

Has an Ikea-ish look to it. It'll take some time to get used to it

I am aware of that as it is clearly visible on air , so thanks. But plans are obviously to revamp it as stated here and I do not see a different point of these applied stripes .

Remember how the glass box and its backdrops looked initially in late 2016 after its launch, that was 100x more ikealike. I think they got it right here, the right balance between a touch of modern furniture (woodlook) and television screens and lighting.

For my two pence, I think it looks fab. I'm such a big advocate for real backdrops (as opposed to the screens of simulated backgrounds). I think, aside from it looking visually much richer, it adds an air of authenticity and energy, which is so crucial for a rolling news type of setting.
