Sky News

Yalda is a great addition and the schedule is also good. It makes sense to have these evening programmes on for a four day run as opposed to the once weekly one previously. Although I suppose the weekends are good for those types of programmes, perhaps.

Set looks good too, has a distinct feel from the other programming.

The graphics package is also great, I’d quite like to see the globe move.

These new programmes, however, do highlight that the theme music needs updating, and a lovely touch would be unique music for each programme.

I'm enjoying The World, Yalda's great depth of knowledge and strong interviewing skills are on show, and I'm a big fan of the graphics design for the new show

In fact, I've liked the branding for all the new shows recently, still feeling very much Sky News whilst also allowing them their own identity. And the studio looks great, is it Studio 6?

happy to see Yalda get a programme that suits her strengths, it's Impact but with a less catchy (or unique) theme

Agree with the comment about the backdrop in the close-up of Yalda, looks really bit-crunched and low quality, they could maybe blur the background when cutting to that shot? idk but otherwise, the graphics package is gorgeous

I completely agree. The graphics are cohesive with the overall brand but unique to each show, which makes them feel individualised.

Strong first show.

It is studio 6 apparently, but looks really good and I’m pleased they did a pan shot at the end rather than just drop out of the programme.

Is this that other, boxed up screens studio they launched with the glass box back in 2016, used for Sunrise and overnights?

Yep, that the one. Not sure if the green screen area still exists opposite the set that they used as a fake glass box.

Great looking show and Yalda is fantastic, as we all knew already.

Only concern, and it applies to The UK Tonight and Politics Hub too, is they’re a bit too narrow in focus. I don’t think the news fits into neat little hour-long boxes depending on what the story is. They were lucky tonight in big international news breaking during Yalda’s show, but would they have run with a domestic breaking story in the same way? I’m confident they’re prepared for this, but I find it quite jarring how the whole agenda changes each hour.

It’s not quite to the level of the terrible James Rubin show in this way but I’m interested to see how the three main evening strands develop over time. I could see The World moving later and Politics Hub / UK Tonight merging together.

Badly done rip off of BBC Studio B with its inferior tower screen.

And the globe looks square in that picture! 😂

Its more faster then the Daily Global, i'd have to agree with Moz, those screens with the background does look a bit blur, they seemed to slightly lose focus on Yalda's face, also it seems there's no other presentation points to that set i think.

Vertical screens and towers: displaying content on set (video shooting video); shooting feature screens infront of set backdrop screens have all been done worldwide long before BBC studio B

It's cute that you think it's a BBC trend that everyone is copying. Bless.
