Meanwhile BBC News is being simulcast on BBC Parliament.
Surely there is a technical solution somewhere that could give some capacity over to an extended BBC Three or Four in the daytime during weekends and recess?
From the top of my head, next weekend the BBC will be showing the Women's Rugby Union Six Nations, the Women's FA Cup Semi-Finals and the (Men's) World Snooker Championship; is there anything else?
(The following weekend, there's the London Marathon and the Men's FA Cup Semi-Final (Manchester United v Brighton) added to the mix)

There's also European Gymnastics Championships scheduled, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Billie Jean King Cup tennis tie between Great Britain and France in Coventry will also be on the iPlayer as a number of GB ties over the last year has been on the BBC. Plus the usual men's football fare, plus rugby and GAA from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

To be honest, hearing some reports about DAZN's offering and finances across various territories (including the price in the UK rising from £1.99 to £19.99 a month in two years) I don't blame the EFL being hesitant to take up their offer, especially considering how they were burnt by the ITV Sports Channel 20ish years ago.

Pity. For a moment I thought the blackout would be rightfully consigned to history but money talks.
Money does not talk in this case, as DAZN were offering a lot more money. The EFL is clearly worried about a repeat of ITV Digital, like RhysJR mentioned.

The talk of the Premier League doing their own thing always comes up as the rights go to tender - clearly a tactic to threaten Sky. I suspect if they ever did that they'd launch it outside the UK first so Sky essentially underwrite it

Going back to golf, SBS in Korea launched SBS Golf 2 in place of KizMom (previously the Korean feed of Nickelodeon before 2022), and moved their KPGA Tour coverage to there:

Banned by the regulator there, apparently.
Those Eastern European/Asian channels are the last using the Setanta brand, but that operation was bought by a Georgian company a year or two back. May still be played out from Dublin, mind. The new owners changed the logo, so the classic Setanta 2007 logo is now history, though it’s still yellow and black.
O’Rourke and Ryan continue to own Premier Sports’ (really Setanta by another name) remaining operations in Ireland and further east in Asia, the latter being a rugby—focused streaming service. Also the former Setanta playout operation, Transmit Solutions.

The FIA along with the motorsport community in Ireland is mourning the loss of Hyundai WRC driver Craig Breen after he had died in a crash earlier this morning. He died while he was undergoing testing for Rally Croatia at 11am Irish time.

I am completely numbed by what has happened to Breen this morning. This tragic outcome should not have become the reality for him, his motorsport fans and especially for his own family.
I have watched him numerous times on the WRC highlights programme and on the TG spin off Extra Gear on the BBC over the past few years. He was a really dedicated sportsman to the world of rallying.
May he Rest in Peace. 😥

The coverage of grand national is very awkward atm as they try and cover the protests.

Interesting talks on ITV's Grand National coverage following protesters delaying proceedings, very anti-protester and pro-horse racing. Obviously, this makes sense with them being horse racing people but surely ITV as a broadcaster has a duty to give the protestors a hearing?
What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.
