That screws up the Derby then - now moved from 4.30pm to 1.30pm which somewhat lessens it as an event, especially if it's the first race of the day rather than one of the last. ITV were hoping to have it at 4.30pm leading into a 5.30pm FA Cup kick-off.

Ok, I thought I understood the 3pm blackout rules, but...
Man City v Leeds Utd had been picked by Sky for the weekend of the 6th of May, and they'd moved it to the Sunday at 2pm. Now City are playing in the Champions League on the following Tuesday, so the game's been moved back to Saturday at 3, but Sky seem to have retained their pick.
UEFA haven't updated their page since last year, but I'm guessing the PL have gone down the 'match of national importance' route, and officially notified them. BT are showing a couple of European matches in the slot.

There are no football league matches in the 3pm slot so I guess the blackout doesn't apply. League One wraps up on the Sunday and League Two and the Championship on the Monday.

So rules is rules, except when they isn't.
Meanwhile, most of this weekend's PL matches have been moved to Sunday (as a result of the midweek round), most of which still aren't televised (because they're not broadcasters' picks).
Yeah, I'm starting to think this system isn't fit for purpose.

You can just tell on Twitter and other forums that most people who want to see an un broadcast match now do so via others methods. I know people who are not particularly strong with their IT skills who use the internet in general who have found ways to watch un broadcast matches of their team.

The BBC studio inside the Crucible Theatre looks rather cramped I've got to say. I'd swear it was bigger in previous years.
Re The 3PM blackout
The regulations say the following, which can be interpruted as not applying next weekend due to their being no Championship fixtures (which are over half of he matches played in the top two tiers on any given weekend). Another exception to the blackout this year was FA Cup third round, where Final Score showed all the goals, which once again had a lack of qualifying fixtures for the blackout to be applied presumably.
Quote:It is understood that the main domestic fixture schedule, as referred to in Article 3(3) above, corresponds to the time when the majority (i.e. 50% or more) of the weekly football matches in the top or top two domestic leagues or in the national cup(s) in the country are played.

Hang on, I’m getting a sense of deja vu on this one…
And if he really is leaving this time I’m not sure why they should see past Julian Warren, he’s been the understudy for long enough.

I'd agree with Julian Warren. Another name, who was previously with Sky as a presenter, and who now does updates on Soccer Saturday from a ground, could be Rob Mcaffrey.
