All being well, the return game next Tuesday should go out on BBC1 as advertised with it being moved to Poland, although they’ll again be doing the rather silly build-up over two channels, starting at 6.45 on BBC2 then moving 1 after Wales Today finishes.
This set-up, though unnecessarily cluncky, worked quite well. The transition from BBC Two Wales to BBC One occured in the break between the anthems and kick-offs, so was prefectly timed in a way.
On the other hand, the second half started 20 seconds before they rejoined coverage. Presenter Catrin Heledd said "they have started a little early".
I understand why they are in a rush to get off air today (at 9pm from a 7pm kick-off to rejoin network on the hour), but not sure why they were in a rush to get off air on Friday night. With a 7:15 kick-off, they were due off air at 9:15 and then a 15 minute short version of Weatherman Walking airing up to 9:30. In the end the match overran slightly, so they went off air at 9:20 with a different short airing instead (Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers). Not sure why they didn't bother to stay on air until 9:30, an extra five minutes or so really.
