The Big Breakfast Discussion

Pretty much all traces of the 1996 revamp gone at this point apart from the balcony.

The picture quality of that Bewitched clip at 15 minutes is really poor compared to the DVDs as well, always get suprised how bad quality the copies of many of these old filmed US shows were in the 80s and 90s.

The sun menu in use here too - thought that came in later when Johnny became full time.

Well, if she was watching that at least Denise knew she didn’t need to worry about her job…

Suspect it was the producers just proving that they could infact have done worse than Sharon Davies.

Danny Baker's final show. "We're hurtling towards the sun..."

A very brief snatch of the week in 2001 between Johnny and Denise leaving and the revamp, when the show was helmed from the up stairs landing...

That'll be why Claire and H got the future presenting gigs then.

IIRC Richard Bacon hosted with 5 different co-hosts. Have a feeling Richard Whiteley might have done a day.

A rough recollection of the pre-relaunch 2001 guests;

15/01: Natalie Casey
16/01: Patsy Kensit
17/01: Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee
18/01: Lisa Scott-Lee and Faye Tozer
19/01: Richard Whiteley and Lisa Snowdon

A fair few of the newer features and experts were introduced that week such as “The Barefoot Doctor”. Richard Bacon more than openly celebrating their departure on air
when the relaunch was undone that spring.

At least when they undid the revamp they didn't bring back those awful titles with the chicken turning people into morris dancers, Mel B and Elvis...

To be fair, he may have had more direct reasons for singling out The Barefoot Doctor for criticism - not sure how much of this was known about at the time en.wikipedia.org

I remember quite liking the 2001 revamp. It was at the same time I was off school for several weeks with bad flu, so I watched a fair amount of it, but obviously plenty of people didn't agree. It does feel like it was all given up on pretty sharpish regardless.
