If it's anything like their boxing they'll probably get their sponsors into commentary three times during the 100m final.

Be genius if they get it to be sponsored by Jacobs crackers or Lyle's Golden Syrup...

Assume the Discovery+ streams are ad free. The BBC may not have 24 iPlayer streams but they'll probably have 24 iPlayer ads everyday if there Euros and Wimbledon coverage is anything to go by.

Reading again and looks like the £3.99 offer may be linked to subscribing for the rest of the year rather than just the month. Probably the wrong half of the year to have the content to entice viewers.

That trailer though. It’s a thing of beauty. 😍

Nine will be partnering with ABC for radio coverage of the games. The latter previously approached them for sub-licensing in February, but was then refused.

Over in Hong Kong, RTHK TV36 started test broadcasting with local events a few days ago, which would be dedicated to Olympics coverage per local forums. Specifics is yet to be announced, but judging by the broadcaster's pattern of launching Chinese state stations in July (CGTN Documentary in 2022 and CGTN in 2023), it might be another collaboration with Chinese state/regional broadcasters.

Eurosport's Olympic advert.
There's been better.

Is it because of a deal with Sky that the UK, Germany and Italy still have Discovery+ not Max?

SVG Europe says yes.

Quote:Scott Young: “We have a mix of three assets; our linear programming, our streaming and the content that will sit on our digital platforms on web, app and social. So as a fan, you can decide to lean back and watch the content that we will give to you on the Eurosport channels, which will be curated to the content that matters to those markets. Or, if you are a fan of a particular sport, you can dive into our streaming platforms (Max OTT across EMEA, and in the Sky markets of UK, Germany and Italy, Discovery+) and watch the sport or particular athletes uninterrupted all day long.”

For those wondering, here's how Max will look like in other territories during the Games, with live streams being front and centre:

CazéTV, the channel of Brazilian streamer Casemiro Miguel, who ventured into live sports after Globo sold a part of the streaming rights of the 2022 World Cup and these Olympics to sports event management company LiveMode, which represents him, might have leaked OBS’ world feed opening titles (the leak dates back to May). The design is in the line of OBS’ titles used since Tokyo 2020; the biggest change however is the lack of the OBS logo, instead going for the Marianne logo. There might be also a template version with space for RHBs to include their branding, as in previous Olympics.

We might see very similar OBS graphics (albeit with the colours and patterns of the Look of the Games) this cycle, but... who knows?

They are very nice - though rare the OBS titles miss, even though the graphics often do. Never made sense to me having the OBS logo on them - get it when they're played out at the end but for an intro the games logo should be prominent which as we see here looks much better.
