Maybe that could be her happy ending, reuniting with Martin.

Maybe they bring Richard Hillman back from the dead to finally get revenge on her leaving her in a watery grave?

Embarrassing news for The Sun. Just yesterday they printed an article headlined Platt To The Future: Helen to overtake Bill, saying she'd signed a new contract which could see her overtake Bill Roache's number of episodes (she's on 4453, he's on 4773). If she's leaving instead, that won't be happening and Bill's record is safe.

Knowing how over the top some Corrie storylines have become, I wouldn't be surprised if Gail is killed off by being murdered by Corrie's latest (possibly soon-to-be) serial killer.

I think Helen Worth probably wanted to retire and 50 years is a nice way to wrap things up.
I do wonder if Bill Roache and Barbara Knox will ever retire?

I hope this won’t open the flood gates and Sue Nicholls decides to quit as well

Hopefully she won't be killed off. But it always makes the disappearance difficult to explain when the character then doesn't appear for any future Platt clan births, deaths, marriages etc.

Ahh, you mean like Michelle Fowler, who never showed up for anything, not even for her own parents' and brother's funerals.
At least not until she came back with a completely different head.
