The picks won't be made until the quarterfinalists are known, surely?

This won’t be decided until next Tuesday after the Round of 16 has completed

Yes It won't be known.

These are the potential games.

BBC have picks 1 & 3. So it will depend if England progress as to what they pick.

Friday

5pm - Spain or Georgia vs Germany or Denmark

8pm - Portugal or Slovenia vs France or Belgium

Saturday

5pm - England or Slovakia vs Switzerland or Italy

8pm - Romania or Netherlands vs Austria or Turkey

Would be a tricky choice between Spain v Germany and a primetime France v Belgium for ITV. I think the late Saturday match has 4th pick written all over it.

ITV TV guide is staying the following :

It will broadcast the 4pm game then have evening news at 7.30 before Emmerdale and Corrie.

BBC is saying there still have Question time at 9pm NEXT Friday,

It seems ITV nor BBC 1 want the 8pm - Portugal or Slovenia vs France or Belgium game.

These are placeholder schedules only.

The only options for the BBC is that 4pm game. They telling people Question time will be on Next Friday.

It won't be an option if they pick England first and then ITV pick Spain v. Germany second. This all very hyopthetical of course, and Question Time will still air on iPlayer at 8pm as it does every other week regardless of how the football and tennis schedules pan out.

It's scheduled for 11.10pm if BBC1 show the evening match (though could be knocked back later if the 8pm game goes to penalties.

There are alternative schedules listed for BBC1, BBC2 (due to Glastonbury/Wimbledon coverage moving if football is on BBC1) and ITV1 in the printed TV guides this week, though these themselves aren't entirely accurate as they are based on stations either airing both matches or none, and generally speaking don't have a clean point where you switch from one schedule to the other.

To avoid all this misunderstanding, I think in future years EPGs should just have a big long 1600-0000 To Be Announced until schedules are finalised, rather than people thinking a placeholder is the actual.

The Sunday night schedule on BBC One is completely different than any schedule that was in the listings. They’ve moved the legends slot at Glastonbury to mid afternoon, so it doesn’t clash with the football, and an episode of Wallace and Gromit has been slotted in

The main evening has been pushed back half an hour and they are no longer returning to Glastonbury for the headliner at 10pm, all the coverage from there now stays on BBC Two all night
