But overall no one seems to much care in the world of social media about her professionalism because she is now (predictably) an ‘icon’ and ‘legend’ etc etc.
The same Fiona who boasted that she loved having a double 6/10 shift because she could sneak to The Langham for cocktails in between
Thankfully most people have a sense of humour

I bet they're using the weekend to put the trees up in the newsroom so have moved all bulletins into B.

Obviously if Fiona had done that and then been visibly drunk on the 10, that wouldn't have been acceptable in any way. But the fact was, she was still perfectly professional at 10 and was not affected by only 1 or 2 drinks in the middle of her split shift, so it worked out fine.

I remember being told how it was possible to sneak to a nearby pub when ITN used to be at Wells Street many decades ago. Apparently there were a few boozy News at One's over the years!

They probably had a whisky or scotch on the news desk in those days.

Yes quite. The Langham story would be more comparable to Maryam if Fiona had been swigging from a bottle of tequila with 1 second to go on the countdown.

She certainly put herself on the map now.
BBC standards have fallen in every single department so nothing should surprise us anymore. Take some time to get used to it though.

Well, the opening titles of later series of Drop the Dead Donkey saw Henry taking a quick swig from a flask….

So E has been out of use all weekend to put up the Xmas tree in the newsroom, but presumably we'll only get a glimpse of it on BBC 1 bulletins next weekend and on Xmas Day?
I think B should have a tree from tomorrow.
In previous years wasn't the Xmas tree put up in the newsroom overnight whilst the NC & World came from C, or did the news channel and BBC 1 weekend bulletins decamp to the old studios B or D for a weekend?
