I’m not sure if this is new but during the brief “across the U.K. and around the world” segment this hour, instead of Annita reading a selection of U.K. stories we instead got a selection of about 5-6 stories appearing in turn on screen in the below style, with the countdown music playing over it. Sorry I’m not able to capture a video to explain it better

It's quite nice and a new mix of the countdown music, but really the kind of thing that people on here were talking about from the beginning.
Like, it's great that things are beginning to turn a corner on the channel, but it's hard not to feel that many of the things that are being fixed could have not been 'broken' in the first place. It's impossible not to come to the conclusion that the merger process was rushed and not properly planned out, leading to them winging it for months and eventually and messily stumbling towards what should have been in place from day one.

Remixed countdown music sounds nice, I'd imagine it's a constantly animating and updating graphic, a bit like the BBC Scotland "SCOTSUS" off-air screen, so there could be the option to broadcast this in place of a breakdown caption or the filler version of the countdown.
As you might expect, the headline and the image are generated from articles on the News website, though not sure about the story information, whether that comes from similar or is a bespoke piece of text as it doesn't appear on the corresponding articles I've cross referenced it to

I like it. The continuity felt better than ‘Across the UK’

Though not strictly BBC News presentation, I would have thought most people in the thread might be interested in this:

Its a good idea. The music remixed sounds better. I do think they could further "enrich the content" on screen. (No Im not talking going down the TeleText route) There is plenty of screen real estate to add just a bit more to enhance the UK news offerings during these breaks. I like the progression bar. The Weather Channel uses something similar when they do the local forcast across the US. Nice job with that.
I would shrink the picture and move it above the main headline and use the right side of the screen for other data. Alongside the major national headlines how about scrolling thru current/forecast temperatures across the regions? Sports scores? Maybe rotate any major traffic/travel rail disruptions. But keeping in a very clean BBC-style uncluttered way.
But this headline slides was always a better solution. At the moment it feels a bit barebones and sparse to me. Add more will give the impression to the viewer that UK License fee payers arent being neglected. But its a move in the right direction. If Im correct it cant be customized depending on the region you are watching from. If that was the case they could show the local forecast/ traffic/sports scores in a specific area with the national headlines on the left side.
Citytv's CityNews Toronto 24/7 is kinda what I was thinking. (those bits that say CityNews rotate to reveal other things. they arent onscreen the entire time...before someone feels the need to point it out. Just posted this as an example. Nothing more.)

Now it would be nice if we could get the break stings back.

There have been some graphical issues during Sportsday, the data from BBC London has been appearing on the straps…

… shortly afterward all the London generated graphics were removed, allowing the Salford graphics to be displayed without interruption.

A brief shot of BBC London appeared during the end credits of North West Tonight as well.
