For all the talk of the Johnny and Denise partnership recently with their hosting of Steph’s Packed Lunch, I always thought Liza was a much better co-host.

Denise was great, but yes, Liza had the edge for me. More of an equal to Johnny comedically.

Liza was great and a shame she only did a year full time, and Denise returning for Johnny's final few months did feel like a step back in more ways than one.

Also thought Lisa Rogers was great as a stand in over the last couple of years and IMO they should have ditched Amanda as well when they undid the 2001 revamp and made Lisa the main host.

This episode is labelled as 14th August 1996. Inside shots of the house appear to be from the kitchen only. I thought the house would have been in mid renovation here? licensing.screenocean.com

And the first two hours of The Biggest Breakfast Ever!

The BB2000 one's interesting as we have several minutes of footage before they went on air (though the pair of them smoking away looks dodgy, even if it wasn't seen on air)- also interesting that the clock is part of the recording, as it isn't on the other episodes that are on Screenocean.

And is that Ray, later of Ministry of Mayhem fame, on the sofa at 1:06? Which reminds me that it's nearly 20 years since that began.... jeeeeeeus.

Looks like a set to me rather than the actual kitchen. Probably in the P24 studio next door?

Though it's possible it was in the house, but that's the only part of the house that could be filmed in as the rest was being ripped out.

The window looks pretty fake and counter looks different, but a fairly decent replica if that's the case. A clip from a few months earlier for comparison.

From what I remember the impending revamp was announced very late (a couple of weeks before perhaps) although rumours about Zoe's future on the show pretty much started the day she started. The Eggs on Legs tour took place over the last 4 weeks of the summer, with the show fully on the road alongside them the week before and in the garden the week before that.

Looks like they're still in the house as the first hour has appeared and show's them fireside:

So bizarre that the lead-in to the less 'in your face', more subtle... thing... they were going for with the 1996 revamp was a roadshow which was the total opposite of that. The left hand must not have known what the right was doing, is all I can think.
