I was given the contact details of the prize sponsor on my way out of the studios, and was able to claim it as soon as I wanted. Big Grin

You need to let us know when your episode airs if it hasn't already.

From Limitless Win tonight (i.imgur.com ), answers on a postcard...

What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

I would have locked in 8, as I wasn’t entirely sure which of the ‘digital’ channels had +1 variants on Freeview

Who knew there was an ITV Be+1

Well let's work it out.

ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, CITV, ITVBe. There's six.

Timeshifts for all ITV channels bar CITV (which doesn't have one on any platform) are all on Freeview. That's five, for a total of eleven. (ITV4+1 is only there for an hour in the morning)

Then there's ITV1 HD. There are no other ITV HD channels on Freeview (at this time)

The answer is 12.

(I suppose if you happen to live somewhere where you can pick up two regions the answer could be 14)

Just to add, ITVBe+1 is also only on for an hour in the morning. And their programming? Teleshopping. Why do ITV use these channels for basically hogging up a little bit of the Freeview EPG?

I think they’re basically squatting on those channel numbers Incase they hold value in the future or can acquire more bandwidth.

I’ll be honest, I got to 12 straight away, knowing they all had some form of +1 presence on Freeview. But you can see how with +1s/HD it was designed to catch them out.

I don’t quite know how the show works (is it a massive green screen, doubt it? Or do they edit out standard screens they’ve viewing on?) but when they unveiled the answer, it was all new logos which would’ve been introduced after they filmed this series.

Wonder how many hall of shamers from the poll will end up not getting recommissioned? On the other hand, shows considered the best are limited in what they can achieve. The Traitors in particular will do well to get to a third series. Bridge of Lies will probably last the longest.

I would hope ITV consider more things than just the ratings of a poll on a website somewhere about whether to commission/recommission a programme. Things like that are just snapshots in time about what's popular.

Long as a programme gets sufficient arses on sofas, that's the priority.

But of course formats can be tweaked or completely overhauled and then shows run for years themselves; its how they're packaged that makes the difference as to whether they live (and for how long) or whether they die, and how quickly.

In the 70s, 80s and to an extent the 90s game shows ran for years pretty much by default with a more captive audience, and most of them were complete crap in their early days, taking years to evolve into a semi decent format or package. That doesn't happen these days, so if it doesn't work from the off, it goes in the bin.
