This says filming is taking place in May...

Thanks - guess it'll either be a very quick turnaround to air stripped in June or more likely held back until the autumn. Do think it works better stripped than weekly.

Millionaire is done. It was overexposed originally and hadn't been away long enough nor had a dynamic enough host in Clarkson to become anything other than filler once the novelty of its return wore off.

I don’t get the suggestion that Millionaire is done. If ITV intended on axing either the show or Clarkson, then why bother issuing a statement that neither have been axed?
Suggests to me they’re more likely to renew.

Millionaire is still a strong format and Sony will have no issue finding another broadcaster to take it on.

Somebody like Madeley or Rinder probably a good choice to replace Clarkson

Doubt it'll matter - Clarkson's Farm has been a hit for Amazon Prime once again.

ITV obviously saw some benefit in making a statement, perhaps to manage the situation more in their favour?

Audiences can move with shows, for example, Bake Off, but it's rare and Millionaire has long since peaked for people to care now.

The reports seemed ridiculous in the first place - McCall clearly said they haven't made any statements regarding anything after the next series.
As for suggestions Millionaire has peaked - I thought it was still rating relatively well for ITV?

Exactly. I feel like the reports were led by what certain people wanted ITV to have said, rather than what they actually said.
And it does rate decently. Obviously like any long running show it doesn’t rate like it used to, but it’s a solid performer.
