Is it most staff in regions who are on strike today, or simply that those in other teams won't cross picket lines? It's a strike by NUJ members in English regions, so includes TV journalists. Although the regional newsrooms have been multimedia a while, a lot of the newsgathering for one will be used for the other

Never heard that, quite a few local presenters ended at 11 so it can't be the case.
Having a quick flick around Sounds most of those programmes continuing are by cover presenters, some for presenters who were due to be off this week anyway. That said is the producers and Broadcast Assistants are striking too they'll be on their own

So it seems some stations are taking the Jim Davis pre-rec emergency programme, others have managed to get a live shared programme out, eg Lancs and Manchester.
Interesting that Sheffield are live but Leeds and York haven't joined them.

BBC Radio Humberside branding itself as "BBC Local Radio" today. I presume this is the same across the other local stations?

Radio London played Part of the Union just before 11am, then the presenter read out statements from the NUJ and the BBC and continued with his normal show.

BBC London is based in NBH and have employees on strike is it not?

But no it won't have a knock on effect on national news, secondary action hasn't been allowed since the 80s

Already talk of further strike action, I can see the BBC management having to back out of these plans to be honest, the anger I saw when they announced the plans orginally was clear to see.
