Nothing wrong with a dose of conjecture, speculation and full blown hyperbole on occasion.

The first consequences of Sky's plans to sell its German operation are already being seen: the Peacock operation in that country has been closed. Although the category remains in all Sky local on-demand services, it has been reduced to just three Bravo shows.

Additionally announced is the desire of local ISP and website hosting company 1&1 to buy the satellite broadcaster, as is the Canal+ Group.

The UK version has also been considerably scaled back. Many shows and all films were removed on 31st December, with only about 30 titles remaining.  Peacock has also been moved the end of the apps rail and lost its subheading in the On Demand section on Sky Q.

BBC One regional variations will be on the Sky Stream/Glass EPG from Jan 23rd using LCNs 951 to 968.

I've just noticed that sometime at the end of last week those of us using FSfS have got an EPG swap with ITV2-4 HD moving to LCNs 118-120 (they were previously at 816-818).

I'm surprised it took so long, as the channels have been FTA for a couple of months on the Sky platform.

A subtle, but significant change to the Sky Stream Ts & Cs for new customers: the pucks are now loaned to customers, remaining the property of Sky, and need to be returned if a customer cancels (this is also how Sky Q works). Previously, the pucks were yours to keep, although in real terms they're functionally useless if you cancel your subscription.

Probably best to put it here: Serie A clubs are seemingly looking to gobble up Sky Italia.
Quote:Serie A has made an internal preliminary analysis of a potential transaction, exploring scenarios such as taking a majority stake in the pay-TV operator owned by U.S. group Comcast (CMCSA.O) or part of its operations, a source familiar with the matter said.

A separate source told Reuters that under a plan floated by Serie A chief executive Luigi De Siervo, the league may use financing from international banks interested in investing in its media business to fund a potential deal.

The potential move would be consistent with the league's long-held ambition to build its own platform to screen games in Italy.
(Reuters)

Plus the rumoured sale of their German service last year (where ProSiebenSat.1 and Canal+ were among those interested), weird to see Sky being a smaller player outside UK.

There are roumours Comcast only bought Sky Italy and Germany because they had to to get Sky UK.

In Germany especially Pay TV had always had it harder than in the UK. While in the early 90s in the UK you had to get Sky (or cable) to get really anything more than the 4 terrestrial channels, in Germany you already could get quite few channels FTA on satellite or via cable (wich often is included in the rent). So the only real pull Premiere/Sky had was sport, specifically football (Bundesliga, Champions League etc.).
