New closedown ident from CBBC has aired. Looks disappointing compared to the rest of the refresh - just an animated loop with obligatory iPlayer promotion

That's pretty much part of the programme.

I was wondering if they would do anything.

And finally, closedown bumps. CBeebies is very similar to what we've known for years, CBBC's is kinda odd as there isn't much begging you to go to the iPlayer aside from small text

Interesting that these slides don't follow the BBC's branding guidelines!!

That's only because the logos are missing, which is surely a mistake that'll soon be fixed.

As for Bedtime Stories, that's a pre-recorded programme, right? It'll probably have the old branding for months, until they film some new ones.

Who are we to judge? We need children from the channels' age ranges to come on here & give us feedback whether they like their newly rebranded refreshed CBBC & CBeebies!

I mean, are kids these days really into this kind of stuff? Are they fussed by how corporate the CBBC wording looks compared to the overall visually pleasing idents? Can they cope with change - aesthetically & musically? Or...are we the only ones who care? Who knows??

Tbh, I was disappointed back in the day when the snazzy, groovy Stonewall Productions Children's ITV idents on the 6th April 1991, were suddenly replaced by the relatively old fashioned, melancholy sounding Central Children's ITV idents on 9th April 1991. I became accustomed to them, but preferred the 1989-1991 era.

Do kids analyse things like this though now? Or will they become new members on here in 20 years time and tell us all then?

The iPlayer off-air slides for CBBC/CBeebies have never traditionally had their logos on them AFAIK, so I think that's intentional.

CBBC Alba have also received a studio refresh in-line with Salford:

What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

CBBC had it's logo on the slide when the channel closed down during 2022. CBeebies never had the logo on it's slide, it just had text.

Really a fan of the rebrand on both. CBeebies blobs will always be iconic but I think the new square-ish ones are just as good. Only grumble for me is the morning clock on CBBC. Just seems a bit random where it is IMO. And not sure why the LIVE dog needs to be in colour.

The stacked logo looks much neater too. I hope other BBC channels swap to this format (three/four/alba/Scotland)
