CITV is to close

I suspect that ITV Kids logo may change as they seem to be running with ITVX Kids as the brand, though whether that is used on TV remains to be seen but I wouldn't be surprised if it is as it's basically promo for the online content.

Even if it does remain although it doesn't look great on the page I suspect it will work far better when animated.

This remains the best logo (and era) of CITV. What was that phone number again?
CiTV (yes I spelt it with a lowercase "i" for old times sake) was absolutely on fire in this period. The graphics and set were a large part in sparking my interest in TV presentation. I am firmly of the era of Danielle, Stephen and Tom (and to a lesser extent Andrea) - even the more "educational" programmes like The Big Bang and How 2 were really entertaining and when the long gone Discovery Kids repeated The Big Bang several years later, I enjoyed them just as much as the first time. Such a great show. And who can forget SMTV? It all went downhill very quickly as the budgets got slashed but they burned brightly for that short period of time.

Anybody remember the White Knuckle Tour?

That tour I think took place in 2001 and 2 from memory:

The Knuckle Tour ran in 2002 as well, it was expanded apparently from the previous year:

Can find a post that says they were doing the tour in 1998, but I don't think it was that early, it sounds like it was 2001 and 2002, and things like that are probably relatively expensive to do, since they had a major budget cut around that time.

There was a YT video of a pitch to bring IVC back to CITV from around 2010 that has been missing for many years now. Can anyone seem to find it?

I don’t remember it very well but it was a CGI set fictionally located inside the LWT Tower with a giant CITV logo from the time standing on top.

Guessing IVC's days are numbered at CBBC with it supposedly going online only. Just hoping there will be a reprieve there should there be a change of government more sympathetic to the BBC's funding needs.

Are you sure it wasn't repurposed into a promo for CITV's programming at that time?

Yeah, don't need continuity at all if there's no linear channel, so CBBC's IVC will definitely not survive.

I think you posted in the wrong thread by the way, this is the CITV closing thread, not the CBBC rebrand one.

As far as I can remember, it was never made into a promo. I’m pretty sure, there was a TVF thread about it but links to the video itself there will be invalid.

Edit: I found the thread.

I think your best bet is to ask David
Heslop on Twitter as he worked at CITV at the time that idea was pitched.
