Surely they’ll tell people they aren’t guaranteed to play if they don’t get a second series.
Think that might go without saying though, if you get invited to the studio no guarantee you get to play the game. And if you don't get to play because the network says enough already, that's not our problem.
Mind you it tells you on the application form for these sort of shows the production company plans to (but may not actually make and the network may not even air) the show you're applying for. Which suggests even if you get into the studio no guarantees about, well, anything basically.
But of course Bullseye back in the 1980s used to get 12k applications a year and had a five year waiting list to sit in the audience. Apparently. So if a show gets big enough you can have more potential contestants than you know what to do with.

Interestingly they state that the show's going to take place in a "new setting", with that I assume the Dream Factory's been retired.
"New prize boxes" also sounds kinda intriguing. So are the boxes getting a redesign or something? I wonder how the arcades that still have those mini bootlegs will react to that if so.
Seen a picture of Stephen with a classic box so remains to be seen. Hope they don't go the briefcase route as in the US. Suspect it'll be more of a shiny studio set but not a bad thing. The dream factory was just a set after all.
I guess even with the issue of not all contestants getting to play it is ultimately easier to use contestants to open the boxes than to use friends/family as C4 did in some of the specials and the celeb episodes (and no doubt they'll be celeb issues - probably Olly Murs again!) Although of course you could just have 22 boxes on stands and one assistant going around opening them.

The US version didn't have contestants opening the cases, that was more a thing in the UK and Australia but I suspect that won't be done for the UK revival

Yeah, they had models instead - including the now-Duchess of Sussex!

I wonder when it might potentially air and at what time.
I dont think they will show it during primetime, perhaps airing it in the slot when the chase is usually aired, when it goes on a break in the summer
Maybe that explains the tight timeline for getting all the shows filmed.

That's definitely wrong, it's airing weekly, so probably Saturday night. They don't have a reason to lie on a press release. They wouldn't say "each week" if it was planned to be stripped.

Note it says 'Each week, a contestant is confronted with 22 sealed boxes' so sounds like it may be a weekly primetime show.

I wouldn't be hugely surprised if it returned stripped across a week at 9pm, then perhaps settled into a weekly slot.
Assume it's still a £250k jackpot - always thought Deal pitched the jackpot perfectly unlike the US with their $1m jackpot and people turning down $70k as their first offer.

Is it just me who thinks it's a bit... glitzy, and missing the somewhat rustic charm of its predecessor...?
