Just looked Garden Studios up to check them out, as I do with my thirst for knowledge of all things studios and whatnot.
How funny. BB would be back at a waterside location. Just on the other side of the North London line.

Wonder where the house will go, I don't see any backlot space. Is it going to be built within a sound stage?
Hmm wonder if it could go in this space:

I'd imagine the house will be built inside a sound stage like Canada and USA with any outdoor space attached to it.

Would certainly make it a hell of a lot cheaper from a waterproofing point of view, and would probably avoid the house flooding due to a storm like in the past!
Wish it had been based in West London when I worked on it. It was a miserably long journey way out in Elstree. It might actually help attract a few more people to work on it as a lot of people were put off by the commute.

It always made sense to build the house within an existing structure. Its waaaay cheaper and greater control over external forces (wind rain etc) and easier to make structural adjustments if they choose to do a new series the following year.
If the Daily Mail is correct the house could be within the large structure with the green roof. Total speculation on my part, but maybe the garden/backyard pool will be in the space between the large building and the smaller building. Guessing the smaller building would be production offices. I cant see them doing the outdoor audience area. It would make sense for Southern California or Australia, but I never really thought it made sense for the UK with the rainy cold weather. I know show they like to show the exterior of the house.....but that was a thing back in the day (even the 1st series of the US did that), but its so unnecessary today. Now US and Canadian versions never show the exteriors of the studio buildings. So maybe the big building will include a smaller indoor audience studio and the entrance to the house. Like the US or Canada. But then again the UK audience likes to scream and yell and that can be heard inside the house. "Get them out"!. Or maybe like the North American versions they will ask the audience to refrain from yelling stuff like that. So I guess we shall see on the audience location. Or maybe there wont be a live audience......It will be interesting to see what they do to give the show some longevity rather than just a reboot of a tired format.

Forum members of a fine vintage may remember that in the days when E4 didn’t start up until 2pm, they would fill their downtime in the summer months with the Big Brother live feed.
Often the audio would be obscured by sounds of birdsong or planes flying overhead when what the housemates were talking about couldn’t be broadcast for whatever reason.
Today I idly wondered how this was done - I would guess it was someone manually checking this, but would there be someone available to do this at all hours? Or is my memory mistaking me that you could watch it 24/7 on the red button at one point.

The gallery operation was 24/7, so if you had somebody cutting between cameras, having somebody able to take the decision to cut away the live feed (didn't the vision go to a feed of chickens at time too?) isn't too outlandish.

The feed had loggers which flagged anything that happened. Was a 15 minute delay so I guess one person logged it and another censored it, though imagine if the live feed returns improvements in technology could make that a one man job to protect Uncle Bob.
