Furthermore, I can read lower thirds and a ticker on my phone! Why can't you? You do know you can turn it sideways, don't you?
You’ve clearly totally missed my point.
Firstly I never made any comment about the amount of people who watch bbc news on their mobile. I don’t have that data so how could I comment on it?
What I was actually doing was giving a counter argument against the argument that the ticker and lower thirds needed to be changed because of people viewing on mobile phones and was simply using myself as an example of someone who occasionally used his mobile phone to view the news. I was explaining that not at any point whilst using my phone had I sat there and thought the writing on that ticker is too small. In other words I had no problem with the ticker and could read the text on my mobile phone without issue.
Just for the record, i would only have the news on my phone if I was having cup of tea out side as i don’t have a tv outside or if doing some diy round the house else i would access the news via my tv or on one of the screens in the office
Edit: as LND and brekkie kindly pointed out I was actually agreeing with your post.

At the end of the Six, one of the regions on the video wall was just showing colour bars.

Oh... Looking more closely, it looks like their output was showing a split-screen between the studio and an OB, and it was the latter which was on colour bars...

Wonder what the text in the colour bars was? Sportsday was on that video wall but it never went out.
Btw does anyone knuw what Network Bbc1 would have switched to? That would have gone to Sportsday normally, but if no oot out happened, what would have gone out tonight?

A strange end to the Six on the BBC News channel -- including a presentation element that I've not seen before.
Sophie was beginning to wrap up the bulletin -- "Well, that is the latest from us" -- when this suddenly appeared...
ibb.co
A full-screen sting with just a big BBC News logo, front and centre, along with (I think) the same audio used in the BREAKING sting.
Accompanying this was a generic voiceover: "This programme continues on BBC One".
Then we crashed into the filler countdown for 40 seconds or so, before joining The Daily Global from the 1830 BOTH.
Anyone else seen that before?

It’s often used at the end of simulcast programmes like Laura Kunessberg when it runs over 10am
