Indeed. Phil Gayle is a great presenter as well as newsreader. I remember him on the radio in the late eighties. Very engaging and authoritative.

I can actually think of few better choices.

Presumably the mix of Radio and TV in its brand. Is it the best radio show on TalkTV, or is it called TalkRadio in the morning, TalkRadio on TalkTV? Or is it TalkRadio on radio and TalkTV on TV?

They really need a brand that is medium agnostic so it has some strength as a brand. They have TalkSport, so maybe they could have gone with:

TalkNews (although I can see why they would want to avoid it being called News given some of the content)
TalkToday
TalkNow
Talk (probably a bit too short)
(The) Talk Channel
HardTalk 😉

Or maybe something else altogether

Do we know where he is off to?

There is another 'news' broadcaster set to have a big revamp isn't there? Maybe that one?

Or maybe Sky, wasn't he planning to go there originally.

Yes, apparently he had accepted the Sky position then after a meeting with Piers Morgan decided to go to Talk TV.

Could GB News be splashing the cash again?

I wouldn't be massively surprised to see Morgan and Gordon -- sounds like a firm of solicitors in a Dr Seuss book -- end up at GB News.

Piers' style would fit right into their schedule, and if they did come a-knocking with promises of better pay and conditions (and a larger audience to boot), I'm sure it would be a difficult prospect to ignore for him.
