There are enough viewers watching the first 15 mins I reckon then they will switch over like my folks do they couldn’t even tell it was a new studio.

To be fair, harshy, they've gone out of their way to make it look as familiar as possible to the casual viewer dipping in-and-out for 15 minutes. It's probably only us pres geeks who got really excited.
Many people just have it as background noise while getting ready for work. A quick glance at the screen wouldn't make them think much had changed.
[*]Red sofa
[*]Empty unused coffee/tea mugs
[*]Small Table
[*]MediaCity background with CGI rippling water effect
Roger must be excited today to be standing in a studio where he can't bump his head on the lighting rig.
EDIT: I choked on my cuppa laughing when Roger said something along the lines of . . .
"Use the QR code to contact us if you have the energy to make it to the screen in time, or the old fashioned way by email. You could also send us a letter in the post and we'll get it in about a week" - FAB!

I suspect a letter has more chance of being read.

I pointed that out a few weeks ago on the publicity shots. Someone said it was intensional to stop wheelchairs sliding off but I wasn't so sure!

Why are they still placing down the line interviews on a screen in the corner to make the presenters strain their necks when they have the monoliths?

I suspect it's because you're only seeing the inner edge on the final part of the sloped area. If you could see the whole slope from a different angle you would see a similar raised 'lip' slowly getting narrower.
The lightbox under the desk platform has a similar gradient, but you can see all of it. The outermost edge of the platform is the same height all the way round. It's only the inner wooden part which is sloping.
There is no 'dodgy edge'.

A very good question it would make sense to put it on the monolith and keeping the scenic background on in that place instead.

I wonder whether that graphic is just standard within the package for these sets. There wouldn't be any point in having Breakfast presenters in front of it for any PR purposes, so I'd be interested to see the context in which this was taken.
