TV Mistakes/Breakdowns

Just before 7am this morning Comedy Central Extra was showing a red screen with the yellow Comedy Central logo bouncing around the screen like a screensaver accompanied by background music.
That’s the filler they show just before Teleshopping begins.

But of course we will never know.

Granada’s source for God’s Story may well have been Central on BAT3. Newspaper listings confirm that ITV regions were running a local schedule at 09.30 that morning. Granada and Central took God’s Story at 09.30 but most others did not, including LWT and Yorkshire (who made the programme).

So does that lead us to a theory that they rehearsed the opening junction before coming on air and didn't reset?

Here's an LWT KRS3 red bar type thing from 1988 going into of all things TV-am:

That one makes sense - BT switching the transmitters to TV-am microseconds before they switched TV-am to the circuit instead of LWT

I wouldn't say this is a breakdown as such, but it appears LWT has used the wrong master tape during "Nobody's Perfect" and accidentally shown the wrong take near the end.
If you listen carefully, you may just about hear an "action" when part 2 begins.

Found this a few days ago while looking at andrewcbo's channel, interesting to see another POV of the 2008 ITV Power Cut.

There was an ITV Power Cut?

What a mess the sound was when pictures finally came back, oh my god that would probably blow your tv speakers if you had the sound up and didn’t realise!
