Watching EMT earlier, the only real noticeable difference between today and a normal day is that Natasha Turney double shifted, lunchtime on a reporting shift and then weather this evening.
Now either Nottingham isn't fully NUJ or the remaining staff pulled out all the strings to get out as much of a normal service throughout the last two days.

EMT and CI managed to put out normal late bulletins this evening.

I hope they bring back the “UK Today” branding… whenever multiple regions are on strike they can just pull out this nationwide title card so everything makes sense for all regions….
I even thought of the opening line already:
“The headlines in the UK today…” *bong*

Even a cut down Blue Planet, Coast or whatever will be longer than that
If Salford can put out a England wide ‘regional’ bulletin at breakfast London could do the same at night…

Is there a reason why BBC Sheffield has been much less affected by these strikes? They've managed a near-normal schedule, including local cover, and Tom Ingall who covers South Yorkshire for Look North and is based there has been presenting from Leeds.
Is the local NUJ branch not very well supported or something?

There is industrial action again today for 24 hours from 11am although due to the Womns World Cup the last TV bulletin was actually at 7:30
In Yorkshire, East Yorks & Lincs, North East & Cumbria and the North West the 1:30 and 6:30 bulletins currently say ‘North West Today/Tonight’ on the EPG rather than a Garden Rescue style filler
East Midlands Today is scheduled in the Midlands as well as the East Midlands
The East, South East, London and South has South East Today at lunchtime and BBC London at 6:30, presumably one of those joint SE & London affairs.
Points West and Spotlight is airing as normal all day
10:30 says BBC London News for everyone except for East Midlands, Points West and Spotlight which are scheduled to air their normal bulletins

The justification behind these plans seems to be to reach 50% of the audience through "BBC England" - except they already do.

The weather on North West today was interesting as it included North West place names but also included the lights of Leeds, York and Chesterfield on the map.

Would be interesting to see the weather maps as it feels like the forecasts are almost split into north England and south England.

The bulletin also went out on Yorks & Lincs which was totally ignored on the weather map.
Incidentally when BBC London (branded as BBC News) went out on Leeds, it opted out while still carrying BBC London upscaled but went back to HD by the end of the titles.
