These named shows are just there to make sure the affiliates have something to promote, I can’t think of any other reason why they are there. There must be a problem with Studio C again as they are now in E, whilst the Nicky Campbell radio show is on for licence fee viewers.
Nicky Campbell's phone-in now seems to be cut down to just the first hour permanently for UK viewers. It's only been on the UK News Channel for 9-10am for almost 2 weeks and it's listed as 9-10am next week as well, and this change can't be fully explained by the football as the phone-in has continued until 11am every day on 5 Live as normal. So a small victory there.
On the constant cock-ups on this channel, if you were a chief presenter, would you really want to be associated with this mess? Matthew A might not want to leave being at the tail end of his career, but it's not difficult to understand why Yalda has jumped ship.

Now we just need Annita McVeigh and the News at Nine back for the other half of the small victory.

Of course, you never saw any mistakes or bloopers before the merger in their heavily-resourced, check-everything era. They definitely never once accidentally put someone on air who’d turned up to reception for a job interview.

If I recall correctly something similar happened when they decided to put Victoria Derbyshire's programme in the 9-11am slot on both channels. After a while it was reduced to just an hour, before eventually being dropped completely (can't remember if Covid was the reason/excuse).
It's worth noting that currently at 10.30am the non-UK/Europe schedule shows HARDtalk, whereas UK viewers have normal news coverage. If they were to reinstate a few more programmes into the back half-hours for non-UK viewers then it would potential allow for the second half of those hours to be UK focused news. A relatively easy way of providing more UK related news which would improve the merged service.

You could see them preparing E this morning during Breakfast at about 8.30 this morning when there was a presentation on the doctors strikes from the verified area.
You could see a floor manager taking the dust sheet off the desk.

For some reason Lukwesa Burak is presenting the 1130 edition of WBR. Oh and they're back in Studio C:

Nobody's ever claimed it didn't happen before, but it happens a hell of a lot more since.

This may be a very simplistic suggestion but why they don't just close down the extremely little watched linear BBC Three - I will never understand why it was brought back to linear television - and divert the saved money into the merged BBC News channel?

How much does it really cost though? Theres the running of a linear channel which I guess much be tiny, and then there’s the content which is where the budget will be. And I can’t see them wanting to reduce the budget of younger orientated content.
