I think this is very much the logical way to get CNN into streaming, rather than the ridiculous CNN+ concept that was essentially an elaborate demonstration of how to pour money down a drain.

The WBD Press Release makes it sound like Acosta, Solomon, Walker, and Whitfield anchor one show with Sciutto anchoring a separate show, which supports the rationale for a rotating roster.
Quote:Featuring the most notable worldwide CNN anchors, the new service will include new programming built specifically for the Max streaming audience like “CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta, Rahel Solomon, Amara Walker and Fredricka Whitfield,” and “CNN Newsroom with Jim Sciutto.” Jim Sciutto will also lead breaking news coverage on the platform in the afternoons. CNN Max will additionally feature “Amanpour,” “Anderson Cooper 360,” “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” and other anchors, correspondents, and contributors.cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com

Right now there is a CNNreplay channel on some FAST streaming services. Its a story jukebox type channel. They could retain the "replay" aspect and not eat into their live programming, but add in the "exclusive" new CNN Newsroom blocks and rebrand the free CNNreplay.I think this seems unlikely as they only just launched 'CNN Fast' on certain connected TVs and mobile devices across Europe in May this year. It's exactly the jukebox-type channel you mention.
