Big Brother - Returns 2023, ITV2/ITVX

Well BigBrother Canada only has a hot tube space outside to get some air and sunshine. But the main "garden" is indoors. When their version started they used to control the lights in the backyard to suit the time of day but they stopped doing that after Season 1. They had a pool in there and sun loungers...eheheheh.

So in theory they could do something similar. They have better control of things. But sadly Big Brother Canada forces the houseguest to got bed at midnight I believe. Cuts costs. Power and staffing overnights. {LOL}

They had a cramped hottub space before.

Wow thanks for that. Never seen or heard of that show. All that for only 3 week programme. Geez. Pricey to do a BigBrother clone. Reminds of me the Glass House on ABC that got sued by Endemol and Big Brother.
It looked better than Big Brother...well at least the house did and the voice of the House

It would certainly add to the closed off nature of it. Personally though, I am not looking forward to ITV Big Brother. I do worry it will end up basically being Love Island types in a luxury villa style house. If it were me running it, I'd make the house as basic as basic can be, and actually have people who are psychologically different from one another, instead of being typical millenial/gen z instagram influencer types. I say that being a typical millential/gen z instagram type. Not an influencer though.

They’re not going to build a ‘villa style house’ within a studio hangar.

BB doesn't feel like it's been gone long enough to be big again but I suppose people gave up on it and lost track after it moved to Channel 5. Having the show on ITV1 does seem like a statement of intent to try and prove to viewers that it's must-see, grade A entertainment even though it will mostly air on, like C5, what people see as a minor channel.

Does feel like the more we learn about the revival the more it's just going to pick up from where C5 left off rather than meet the original promise of trying (even if inevitably failing) to hark back to the early success on C4.

If this does well, I won't be surprised if it moves over to itv1 for season 2, or if the celebrity series is revived, it airs on itv1.

People said that year after year about Love Island

It always amazes me to think back to the first series of Big Brother and how it was perhaps considered a moderate ratings banker with curious people tuning in to probably end up watching thrilling antics such as pottery making and exercise biking

...then Nasty Nick happened and within 15 minutes or so of footage they had a huge hit on their hands

Funny also how you look back at the incident now and talk about a mountain over a molehill!
