Ideal Worlds Future?

I guess the brand still has some value to TJC then although have to wonder how they think they can make it profitable moving forward. Have to wonder just who television shopping is aimed at nowadays but guess as long as the people watching are buying they don't need to appeal to more than a few hundred people.

Not too dissimilarly to how they're profiting from the current channel? TJC Beauty is effectively fixed price as it is, and they have plenty of stock suitable for a general channel (which TJC is half the time).

Not taking this thread too off topic, wasn't TJC originally this?

Or is TJC another thing altogether?

Shoppingtelly says 671 will be used but that's QVC Beauty not TJC Beauty.

671 used to be an ideal world channel but they won't be able to get it back now - particularly as QVC beauty only moved to 671 a few weeks ago

That is definitely the old incarnation of TJC with the man who was used for the UK version of WeDigTV.

Derek Gibbons is still on TJC. He composed the auction music, some of which is still used today.

That article (for what it's worth) says it will be live from 7am-midnight, not that it won't broadcast 24/7. Ideal World was never live 24/7 either - indeed, prior to the ITV broadcasts, it was only from 7am-midnight.

What are the criteria for a channel to lose their slot on the Sky EPG?

If someone at Ideal World or the administrator put out a 'Best of Peter Simon' compilation instead of the static logo, would they have remained on the EPG and still have the EPG slot as an asset?

In fact, did they retain ownership of the EPG slot even after Sky took it down?

My understanding is that Sky have a policy of delisting channels which stop broadcasting within a few days, but will relist them if they come back on air within a certain longer period. There were periods when Information TV and Showcase TV (and maybe some others) disappeared while they had a carriage issue (meaning bills hadn't been paid) but came back after they'd been resolved.

As for what counts as broadcasting and not, barkers/loops definitely don't otherwise the 'ghost BBC Three' stuff that went out at 2am wouldn't have been necessary.

Not sure if the specifics of the policy are stated publicly but this is my understanding.
