Challenge TV

Wasn't it Soap Addicts that was the spin-off of TV Addicts hosted by the above person?

Brian Conley appeared in a show for Challenge in 2014, Timeline it was called, but it only lasted 10 episodes and was apparently meant to be their breakout show:

Somebody went to a recording of the show and documented it for Bother's Bar - apparently it took forever to film:

The Blockbusters revival airs occasionally though IIRC it shares the same description as the ITV series (just without a host name) so its not always obvious which one it is until you're after the ident. Which reminds me actually, doesn't look like they've shown Bob Holness Blockbusters for a while.

Haven't seen Dave Spikey Bullseye for a while, its always the original show. Spikey Bullseye had to have its episode endings butchered somewhere down the line because there was an invitation to log online and play an online game of Bullseye. Well that's long gone as has the entire website, so you just get a flat cut to the credits with an audio edit to cut that out.

Everything else in Worzel's post is probably long expired by now rights-wise, though I believe Alan Titchmarsh Ask The Family was made for what was UK Gold originally and got a repeat on BBC Two, or was it the other way round? Sure it appeared on the BBC in some form.

Challenge when it was owned by Flextech had a lot of its own original commissions that unfortunately have been long since forgotten about. I'd like to see Celebrity Poker Club rerun again but what are the chances of that?

They should just bring back Stake Out and call it a day really

My favourite bit presentation wise is how Anthony Davis manages to race around the set to shake the hands of all the contestants all within the 20 seconds or so of the credits playing out!

'Weakest Link' next week is showing as 'New' on the EPG. Therefore I assume this series will be different to the last one they showed a few years ago.

New is known to have a very liberal meaning on Challenge, so don't get your hopes up (might be though!).

It’s Series 13 (Anne’s final series) that they’re showing from next week.

Interestingly when Anne announced she was to step down, that final series was moved midway to BBC2 after the Wimbledon break with Pointless going over to BBC1 and taking the 5.15pm slot (BBC1 wanting to establish Pointless there ahead of TWL ending).

The Weakest Link initially took the 4.30pm Pointless slot but was moved back to the point the final episodes of Series 13 aired at 2.15pm.

The last ever episode with previous contestants aired on a Saturday afternoon (at 3.45pm leading into Final Score) on BBC1.

This 2011 series of Weakest Link on Challenge right now is superior in every way to Romesh Ranganathan's version. Anne is theatrically savage & the atmosphere tense! I'm glad Challenge have the balls to show this excellent quiz in an era where the public are easily offended by even the slightest criticism. Plus the questions are wide & searching. I hope Challenge continue to vary their schedule.

So Anne is rude and the atmosphere uncomfortable. And yet someone at C4 still thought she was the perfect fit for Countdown.
