I don't think there is an argument there - the show arguably outgrew Elstree during it's latter C4 days and the extensions were just a sticking plaster really, though one thing C5 did do a really good job with was the houses.

It is stunning - the main living area especially. If I'm nitpicking (yes I know, so unlike me!) I'd actually say the bedroom and bathrooms suffer from being too big if anything, but it just looks great overall - new, but familar.

Yes - looks like they're using the sound stage opposite for the studio rather than building it in the same one that is home to the house.   There likely would have been room as the stage is 50% bigger than the one that houses both the US house and studio, but access would have likely been tricky given where the garden is.
