Either that or the Nine was extended as the announcer said at the end that programmes were running late due to events.

I have seen this morning that a clip posted on X yesterday from the RTE News page had graphics on from an official at the scene so I can only guess from that there was a news update in the afternoon.

There is now a new live bug in place on all RTÉ News bulletins since today.

The live bug now has the live OB location written underneath it.

The live bug is now located on the top left of the screen rather than on the bottom left.

It is a very subtle change but a very noticeable one for every viewer who watches them.

There was another anti Israel-Gaza War protest taking place on Upfront with Katie Hannon tonight.

There were about 3 protestors that walked into the studio.

They then made some remarks like "*something* & Israel cannot hide".

An Upfront with Katie Hannon programme slide then appeared on RTÉ One for a few seconds.

This was to allow the production team to remove the protestors from the studio.

Anyone tuning into RTE Radio 1 Morning Ireland on RTE News (Channel) this morning at 7am were treated to an empty studio for around 4 minutes. Then following a minute of the normal News Headline sequence they cut into the programme in vision which was coming from their former old studio which appeared dark with a single camera shot and initially without the back monitors switched on. The old flickering monitor was still there when the Morning Ireland logo eventually appeared. If ever a studio should be ripped out ...... though obviously RTE finances probably don't currently permit such. Interesting also to see the Presenters communicating to each other during the Paper Review by writing a note to each other 😳.

Virgin Media News launched a new look for their bulletins today, featuring new graphics and a new opener - though the 2018 music and the Virgin Media News (previously 3News) Hub was retained.

Keeping it simple but at least it's a move away from the 'stock graphics' feel of the previous look.

Looks very ITN inspired to me!

It's not bad, but that theme music is so painfully generic and i don't think it really suits the new titles.

Regarding the titles, they're not as generic looking, but feel oddly paced.

Brian Dobson is retiring from RTE in April - can’t find a web link at this point but it is being reported on the RTE News channel.
