There were still a few Covid restrictions in place so I assume that they were being better safe than sorry.

Interesting 👀 I wonder if it’s something similar to Ring my Bell?

Idk, but riding star i think is also an amazing format. Essentially, voting occurs during a performance, if the votes pass 70%, a wall they are performing behind is lifted and they qualify for the next round. The only reason it failed in the usa was due to a west coast save format they put in place. Itv should've given it a go instead of cancelling it before they broadcast it. Also, the nature of the show means that it is 100% live, from the auditions to the final.i just wish somebody would bring the format to the uk. Here's the first us episode:

Not much to explain for anyone who watched The Greatest Dancer, as the "rising wall after a certain percentage of votes" aspect was adapted from Rising Star.

Channel 4 did The Singer Takes it All which sounds very similar to raising star...

Interesting interview from Ant & Dec with The Sun about the new series of Takeaway. The most important things that I will take away from this interview is that the series finale will be Live from the UK which may indicate the return of the Takeaway Getaway, Lorraine Kelly stars in I’m a Celebrity… Get Out Of Me Ear!, Little Ant & Dec return doing what they do best. (Interviewing celebrities) Fleur East will NOT be taking part in most of the series as she is pregnant with her first child so different celebrities/presenters will be helping out the boys on that front, And in a brand new feature for this final series Get Out Of Me Ear: The Revenge where the tables are turned and Ant & Dec get told what to say and do by previous recipients of Ant & Dec!

This does seem like something channel 5 would do if they had the chance. It could become their big show. Do itv still have the rights from its first attempt.

If ITV had gone ahead with Rising Star, what would that have meant for The Voice? Both are very similar in having blind auditions, only so many contestants getting chosen per round and people singing what they liked. That's what holds back these shows in that ballad after ballad after ballad isn't exciting to watch. The X Factor had themed weeks which meant a variety of musical styles and upbeat songs. Also, I'm not sure eight weeks or whatever to win money or a holiday is that satisfying for viewers when contestants want the singing career anyway. Maybe if there were contestants who were in it solely for the money, The Voice would be more entertaining but they would look stupid prancing around on that soulless stage so would probably get eliminated early on.

Maybe what ITV need is an everything decided on the night singing show which is the best solution for everyone.

Not sure if this was brought up but it is worth noting that ITV2 will be repeating SNT the following day, IIRC the last time ITV2 repeated SNT would've been around 2017 or so? 5

Well after the first show it is clear why they are taking a break. Everything just felt predictable, although I enjoyed the first part where Ant and Dec gave away takeaway getaway’s to all the audience.
