Makes you wonder what the TalkTV strategy actually is. Launching a new show without the TalkTV brand when "TalkTV" as a broadcast channel already has an expiration date. Will "The Sun TV" appear in it's place as a broadcast channel with a significantly cut-down crew? Is this one last roll of the dice? Difficult to see how Pier Morgan's show can sustain itself on Youtube, let alone something that would generate even less ever-green content like a weekly paper review show.

Given how many subscribers the Piers Morgan Uncensored show has on YouTube and the views and the guests that it pulls in: I think it'll be more than fine.

Subscribers have no monetary value and Youtube CPM is famously tiny. The napkin maths just don't add up. They weren't adding up when it was a Youtube show
and with News Corp pushing their subsidiaries to carry it.
95% of his guests are smaller podcasters, "columnists" who haven't been hired to write for years, or people who struggle to get any media appearances outside of TalkTV. That's not to say he hasn't had a few massive interviews and guests before, but those have been few and far between, and it's yet to be seen whether NewsUK are going to be to gift those to Morgan post-demotion.

Crikey, the first ‘The Sun’ branded program isn’t even going out on TalkTV’s YouTube channel, it’s streaming on The Sun’s instead.
It’s also interesting they haven’t gone for ‘The Sun TV’ - suggests the TV studio could be used to make video content for The Times etc too whilst keeping the existing brands.
Guessing it’s only a matter of time before the operation essentially scales back to a slightly enhanced TalkRadio and additional branded video content - can’t help but think this is what they should have done in the first place!

It’s all going to come down to the amplification and clickbaitability of his content. One of his Israel episodes has nobody of great importance on it, but it has a catchy, controversial title and has achieved a huge YT view count. Based on very basic YT rate calculations, that episode netted around 400,000 dollars in YT revenue.
If you look at his general average numbers, he gets around 200k views on a daily basis. That’s roughly around 15-17 thousand dollars per day in revenue. Not that bad!

That's exactly what Scott Taunton said they were doing when they announced the closure of Talk TV....
In the coming months, we are proposing to create a new division, News Studios, which will service each of our newsbrands, turbocharging video creation for all our brands – talkSPORT, The Sun, The Times, The Sunday Times and Virgin Radio, and of course also for Talk and for PMU. All our video content will be created with online audiences in mind and will be distributed through owned websites and apps, as well as streaming and social platforms to include YouTube and TikTok, building on what we have done for Talk.

When is Talk TV closing - see no reason for them to run it any longer than they need to really. It's second anniversary is next month so you'd assume any leased broadcast capacity may be due to expire soon.
Is it possible as well they continue as a streamed channel on Freeview - seems Freeview are happy enough now to run IP channels in some sections of the EPG alongside regular broadcast channels.

200k views converts into 200 units of CPT,
£8 ( estimated revenue per thousand) * 200 is £1,600 per day. Even upper end YouTube outpay would only be £2,000 per day
You're out by a very large factor in the revenue calculations.
For comparison, the Breakfast sponsor alone on TALKSPORT would earn News group more money

It depends who you are and how much content you make. It varies massively. Payments can be extremely high for the ‘right type’ of content creator. (Basically people producing more live content, with global interest and reach etc). Trust me, it CAN be a lucrative money spinner if it’s done right.
Of course, none of this really matters. It’s all just Piers making it looking like he’s leaving on his own terms when he was clearly pushed. Final nail in the coffin, etc etc.
