The Liberty/MotoGP deal now confirmed. Looks like them and F1 are to be run at arms length form each other, with MotoGP retaining the same CEO.
It will be interesting to see what level of cooperation we will get going forward. In traditional media, MotoGP and F1 have different broadcast partners in the UK, and likely in many other countries. Would it be beneficial for that to be one contract?
Online media, such as the Netflix series and YouTube content, is where F1 has the seen the greatest improvement since Liberty took over. MotoGP did have an unsuccessful BTS series on Prime a few years back.

I'd say as broadcasters are finding 24 events a year a few too far that effectively doubling that by combining the contract should be a non-starter.

I wonder how much they were affected by all Premier Greyhound Racing tracks being shown on the red button, and for free online via the At The Races site.

Another one bites the dust. Singapore will not host the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Can we fast track Qatar into the Commonwealth of Nations as it was seemingly involved with the British Empire for most of the 20th century?? They look like the only ones who would be interested at this rate. A sad end to a fun event.

I can see them deciding to wait till 2030 or 2034 and have a farewell games set across the commonwealth with London hosting an adapted opening and closing ceremony and athletics while the likes of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India etc take one or two events

Relevant sporting news; Rolf Kalb, the snooker commentator for German Eurosport, as well as the MC and post-final interviewer for the German Masters snooker at the Tempodrom, has announced he will be retiring from his commentary role at the end of this season [basically in a months’ time].
He is well known on German Eurosport having basically provided German-language coverage for the last 25’ish years, on his own. He was also responsible for collating lots of stats alongside English commentator Dave Hendon.

The Telegraph reports that the current WSL broadcast arrangement with the BBC and Sky will be extended by a year until 2025. This will allow all parties, including the new body taking charge of the league, longer to negotiate the new longer term deal.
