BBC News Pres: Apr 2023 - Jun 2024 (BBC News Channel/BBC One)

Friday lunchtimes on BBC 2 now seem to carry the whole 12pm hour of the NC...has Politics UK been axed? IIRC it was pre-rec'd on a Thursday anyway, but seems to have disappeared completely now.

The last time it aired was on 22 March, so I'm inclined to think it's been quietly axed

N&R will opt out around 1:35 as normal, but they will now opt back in around 1:45. The opt back will be a clean hand similar to Breakfast.

N&R extended to 10 mins duration.

One presenters are Ben Brown, Jane Hill, Anna Foster and Tina Daheley.

Tina suggested on Instagram that she was appearing on TV each Monday and Tuesday over the summer.

Presumably all of these people will be commuting up and down and probably needing an overnight hotel for the early start time.

Presenter Charlotte confirms it's the final Politics UK at 43:12

Hopefully a temporary arrangement as if not a missed opportunity to give the bulletin a more regular host.

So have the One staff been laid off in London or is it another case of a show moving north and taking their staff with them?

I’m assuming it is a temporary measure as were they not recruiting for a chief presenter in Salford?

And this is why the channel will struggle if there's a UK General Election on November 14 after the US Presidential Election on November 5, especially if the result of the US Election is close, or is contested.
The US Election will naturally dominate the international news agenda, but the UK Election will be dominating the domestic news agenda.

Wonder how on earth they've managed to seemingly damage these metal grilles in the Breakfast/Sportsday studio? I know it seems trivial and the space gets heavily used, but you'd expect them to try and fix any damage that's visible on camera.

Looks like it's melted or warped through heat almost, I know it's made of MDF with a vaneer of aluminium, has someone put a light too close to it, or a heating duct and it's warped out of shape?
